Condemnation of Suicide Attacks on Masjid Al-Anoud in Dammam Saudi Arabia

Dated: May 30, 2015

World Ahlul Bayt Islamic League (WABIL) utterly condemns the three violent, criminal, suicide attacks yesterday during Jumah prayers at the Al-Anoud mosque in Dammam, the eastern province of Saudi Arabia, for which ISIS has claimed responsibility. We offer our sincere condolences to the families of the brave martyrs who gave up their lives to save the thousand worshippers in the mosque. These attacks followed the horrific attack of last week at a Shia mosque in Qudaih, Qatif, which claimed many victims.

This despicable inhuman act by cowardly ungodly people, who blow up, maim and kill pious God-fearing people while praying, is a sign of how far removed from Islam the so-called ISIS is. The terrorist group have declared on-line that this was a ‘blessed operation’ by a ‘soldier of the caliphate’. Yet this was nothing but a most heinous criminal act, far removed from Islam.

WABIL notes that the Saudi monarchy sent a representative to visit al-Qudaih after last week’s attack, condemning the act. We now urge the monarchy to bring the perpetrators to justice and to arrange for all Shia Masjids and centres in the country, appropriate protection.

WABIL urges all people who care about the right to life and religious worship for every human being, to condemn this appalling attack. We ask all Muslims to join forces against the terror of ISIS that is wreaking havoc across the world, and to condemn ISIS and its funders who are systematically killing and depriving innocent people of their basic human right to life.
