Salamun Alaikum.....What is the level of minimum use for the clothes and dresses for exempting it from khums chapter?

Answer:

It is what is been understood by people of your society as the usual use in
their common sense. There is no minimum but what is been understood by
common people as usual use.

Question:

Salamun alaikum......What is the defination of "USED" when we are talking about khums? I become more confused when dealing with items like books,etc. Please particularly define it for books. I heard of reading even single page can also suffice to exempt khums from it.

Using the book means reading it or part of it even small part.

Question:

If someone paid khums on savings of $100 last year and the khums ($20) was paid from non-khumsable money (current earnings then on which khums was not due), now this year what is the khums-free / mukhammas amount $100 or $80 ie. Should payment of khums be from within the due amount or can it be paid from current earnings.

Answer:

The Khums free in this case is $ 80.
It can be paid from any amount you own.

Question:

If someone makes an investment on a piece of land during the year which seems after a few months that it was a bad deal and that the investment may not be recoverable anytime soon or even in full ever and now the khums date has arrived will khums be due on the investment?

Answer:

Market value of that land should calculated on Khums date.

Question:

If someone buys a 2nd house for his children and /or for living in it in old age. 1) Will khums be due on it? 2) at the time of buying khums date had not approached so will it be due when the date approaches? 3) if after buying the house person is not left with enough amount to pay khums can he pay it when he sells the house or can he inform his children to pay khums on it when they sell it since khums was not paid at the time of purchase
