Question ID  4696  -  Zakat and Khums
Salaamun Alaikum, I would be very grateful if you could please answer my question. I received gold jewellery as gifts during my marriage. I took out khums for the jewellery that I had not worn in the first year of my marriage. I have been married for many years, and have used my jewellery items variably, they all get used, but specific items may have been worn in some years but not in others. Since gold prices keep going up, did I need to keep taking out khums every time a year passed in which I had not worn a specific item from my collection? Thank you and JazakumAllah Khair.

Answer:-  Unused jewellery need to be calculated for Khums if the price goes up and you need to pay Khums for the additional value only if you have already paid Khums for its value on the previous years.
Wassalam
