Question ID 3654 Wednesday 14th of December 2016

Question:

Selamu aleykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh Sayyid ! What do you say about a follower of Ahlulbayt (as) praying his 5 obligatory prayers in a "sunni masjid" but who is folding his hands, making sajdah on carpet etc. while perfoming his prayer (because praying in the shia way would cause him a lot of harm) but as soon as he comes back home he repeats his prayer according to jafari fiqh. Will he still get rewarded for participating in the 5 fard prayers ? May Allah bles you and your family, fi amanillah, wa selamu aleykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh

Answer:

It is highly recommended to pray with Muslims from any school of thought
but we need to recite Al Hamd and Sura quietly and we must pray our Salah
according to the authentic way of the Prophetic Salah by leaving our hands
open and prostrating (Sajda) on the earth or anything from earth which is
not edible or wearable. We are not allowed to fold our hands during Salah
because it is a Bid'ah which was never done by the Prophet rather it was
initiated and ordered by Omar bin al khattab. We are not allowed to put our
forehead during Sajda on carpet unless there is a possibility of harm and a
situation of Taqqeya then we will be allowed to pray like the others.
If we pray with Muslims from any sect we don't need to repeat the Salah. If
this person fears harm in certain places he may go to another place which
does not have harm on him if he prays his Salah according to the authentic
Prophetic Salah
