Question:What is the authenticity of saying YA ALI MADAD..Sunnis say that
it is shirk? Please do give ur reply with authentic Hadith or quran as I
have to give this reply to sunni people..jazak Allah.Answer: Saying (Ya Ali
Madad) is seeking the Waseela of Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (a.s.) to get your
wish from Allah (s.w.t.). Those who misunderstand it think something else
and put allegation on Muslims wrongly. Seeking help from human beings is
not shirk. Don't you read in the Holy Quran how Prophet Sulaiman (Solomon)
(a.s.) sought help of others to bring the throne of Bilqis? All other
prophets sought help from people but never believed or claimed them to be
God or His partners. We seek help from doctors when we need them and indeed
nobody can say that it is shirk. What if we seek help from the best of the
servants of Allah (s.w.t.) and seek their Waseela and intervention to pray
for us to Allah (s.w.t.)? In the Holy Qur?an, Allah (s.w.t.) has ordered us
to seek help from patience (sabr) and prayers (salat) (The Holy Quran, 2:45
and 2:153).Obviously, Sabr and Salat are not Allah, but still we must seek
help from them. Saying (Ya Ali Madad) is therefore, absolutely in
accordance with the Holy Quran and the Prophetic Ahadeeth. Even in Sunni
books there is authentic Hadeeths that the Prophet (SAWA) taught a blind
man to pray Salat and say in Sojood (Ya Mohammad) and this Salat was
practiced by Muslim safter the life of the Prophet (SAWA) as it is narrated
from Othman Bin Hunaif who taught it to a man who had a need to meet Uthman
Bin Affan during his government. No doubt, saying Ya Mohammad is same like
saying Ya Ali Madad. Wassalam Mohammad al-Musawi

Question:

Salam un alike My school is 25km each way far from where i live. Both ways is basically 50km and i travel this distance everyday. Am i considered as a traveller? Do i pray as a traveller in my school? What about Fasting in this situation? 2)I undrestand in order for one to pray as a Traveller one must be far enough from the Town where he can not hear the (Azan) but how far is this in KM? How far should i be in KM from the Town to shorten the Salat? Thankyou

Answer:

A1. You must pray full Salaat and fast .
A2. No fixed Km for that. Where ever you can not see the houses or can not
hear the Azan, your Qasr Salaat starts.
