Question:

Salem alakium I have come across a young man (23 years) who told me about a sinful act (sodomy with a boy). He is very sad about the act he committed. He asked me if he would ever be forgiven for the sin without carrying out the hadd punishment. I told him that Allah (SWT) will inshallah forgive your sin if his repentance is sincere and he should not tell anyone about the sin. Was it correct?

Answer:

Wa Alaykum Assalam wr wb
Allah forgives all the sins if the sinner sincerely repents and seeks
forgiveness.
It is not good to inform any one about the sins.

Question:

Salaam alaikum, As I am sure you are aware, the mandating of sex education in schools has been high on the agenda recently. I recently found out that Dr Kate Godfrey, a Shia psychologist who has been a key activist in stopping the government from mandating sex education in schools, is carrying out all her work in her free time. She in a professor in psychology and runs: StopRSE website - https://stoprse.com Events in Mosques Interviews on TV Contributing towards Makinations series by the Islamic Pulse - https://www.facebook.com/islamicpulse/videos/vl.289931648302231/983681435160751/?type=1 I emailed Dr Kate Godfrey after finding that all her work is done in her free time to see if we, as a community, should financially support her so she can work full time on this. This would help her create more content and help our children, who are at risk of being misguided. I asked her about this and she said she would prefer to receive funding if there is a specific project that a madrasa/institution/mosque requires, as opposed to being paid to work on what she is doing at the moment. Examples she gave were the following: A book for children on RSE (Relationship & Sex Education) issues An Islamic RSE curriculum I’m raising this with you for the following reasons: I want you to be aware that we have an opportunity to engage with someone extremely well versed in this issue that is approaching our communities. If there are any projects that your institution would like to work on, I want you to be aware that she is available to help. Maybe at this moment in time there are not any projects you can think that you need but at least by contacting you I hope I am making you aware of an avenue that you can explore if you should ever want to. May Allah bless your institution and allow us to make the most of her knowledge, in any way we know best. Please also pass this on to anyone you think may be interested in compiling educational material on RSE as Dr Kate Godfrey has carried out extensive research and would be a great source of knowledge. Her website is: https://stoprse.com With duas,

Answer:

Wa Alaykum Assalam wr wb
